About James Adams

James Adams is the founder and principal attorney of Adams Law Group, bringing more than 25 years of experience in asset protection, business law, and complex real estate matters. With a career that spans litigation, transactional law, and business ownership, Mr. Adams offers clients a uniquely strategic perspective—one grounded not only in legal theory, but in real-world business experience.

Before establishing his law practice, Mr. Adams owned and operated multiple successful businesses, including a multi-state mortgage banking company and Nevada’s largest business brokerage firm. This entrepreneurial background allows him to understand the challenges his clients face from the inside, and to craft legal strategies that are both practical and effective.

Mr. Adams has developed a strong reputation in the field of asset protection. He has experience designing, defending, and challenging complex asset protection structures, including domestic and offshore trusts. Notably, he served as lead counsel in the Nevada Supreme Court case of Cadle Co. v. Woods & Erickson, LLP, a significant decision involving asset protection trusts. His work includes creating Nevada irrevocable trusts, litigating Cook Islands trust matters, and successfully navigating high-stakes disputes involving creditor claims.

In addition to his asset protection work, Mr. Adams has handled nearly 400 business and real estate litigation matters. His litigation experience spans all phases of a case—from initial strategy and pleadings through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. He has also managed more than 100 court-appointed receiverships and has extensive experience in mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.

Mr. Adams is equally accomplished in transactional law. He has negotiated and drafted complex agreements involving high-value real estate developments, business sales, and commercial ventures. His background includes conducting over 100 business sale escrows and advising clients on sophisticated transactions across multiple industries.

He also has deep experience in homeowners association (HOA) law, including involvement in landmark litigation that helped define Nevada’s “super priority lien” framework in Horizons at Seven Hills Homeowners Association v. Ikon Holdings, LLC.

Mr. Adams earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles while simultaneously completing graduate studies at Pepperdine University, where he received a Master’s degree in Communications with a 3.9 GPA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Loyola Marymount University.

He is a licensed attorney and member of the Nevada Bar, admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Courts and the United States Tax Court. He is also affiliated with leading professional legal organizations, including the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
